About me and my family: Martha is from Sapulpa (‘63). She was a school teacher before the kids came on the scene, and she returned to teaching part-time after they were in junior high school. She retired in 1999. We have two children, Brett, 39 yrs. in Chicago, and Colin, 36 yrs. in Austin, TX. We have three grandchildren. I retired in July of 2007 after 18 years as a secular school teacher and principal in the U.S., Somalia, Abu Dhabi, and Venezuela and 30 years as a children’s pastor in the Twin Cities and San Diego. I remain active as a volunteer in three ministries – literacy for Somali adults in my community, Child Evangelism Fellowship, and the Minnesota Church Ministries Association, with whom I will undertake my sixth trip to Nigeria in late October.

Who I’d like to see at the reunion: All of them, but particularly Gordon Nelson and Wayne Otsuki, whom I haven’t seen or heard from or about for a long time.

Events Remembered: Band trips certainly come to mind, especially the ones to Canon City, CO and the Cherokee Days parade in Perry where drum major Paul Mooney accidentally turned the band the wrong way and off the parade route. I also vividly remember one life changing experience at SHS – getting caught cheating in Mrs. Pulley’s physics class with two other guys. We were all NHS members and officers, I think. It was a good lesson for me in that I never involved myself in cheating again.

Yes, but went back to work
I retired in 1998 in the oil and gas industry after working 34 years. I was
retired 11 1/2 years, when I was asked by the director of the Senior Citizens'
Center in Coldspring, where Rip and I ate everyday at noon, if I'd take the
Administrative Assistant position. I said, "No," at first, then got to thinking
about going home and watching Dr. Oz on TV every day. I changed my mind and took
the job. That was a year ago. We have lots of fun there and I get off whenever I
want.

     Rip and I have been married 31 years this past June. We
have 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grand children. My two oldest children have
passed away, but my other two children live near by. I stay busy with my
grandchildren in Coldspring.

About me and my family: Deb and I are both retired but we keep busy with various jobs. Deb takes care of our youngest grandson three days a week and I help my brother with his 200 acre pecan grove.

Jason, Our oldest son, is Director of Digital Media at Oklahoma University Athletic Department and lives in Norman. Jarod, our youngest son, is an Engineer for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and our daughter-in-law, Ryan, is a home loan closer in Owasso. We have two grandsons, Cade is seven and Mason is two.

We like all the Oklahoma college football teams but attend most of the OU games where our son works. I yell for both teams during Bedlam.

We still have our acreage and a few cows so we think we live in the country, but have a Quick Trip about two blocks from the house. We are enjoying retirement, friends and family and being able to do pretty much whatever we want to do.

Events remembered: All events of my Senior year were great. Many new friends and a great new school. Stillwater and Perkins is still where I call home.
